You are planning to study away from your country but really don’t know how to go about it. As you might know, nothing is easy in life, and everything requires preparation. Besides, any preparations require some information, right?
LMS through its LMS EDUC Unit has made some research, in addition to its experience in this field, to help you have the right information for better preparation.
As long as you are leaving your home country for study purpose, no matter what you are planning to study, the process is almost the same. However, the admission application process, applying for your passport, the cost of your study, and the visa process always vary depending on your destination, the length of your stay and your study program. Here are a few important things you need to take into consideration in order of priority:
- You need a valid Passport, not a National Identity Card
Whether you are travelling by air or by road, a valid passport is required. If don’t have any, make sure to apply before any admission application. The passport application process depends on each country. Most of the time the process can be found on the website of the relevant immigration authority or at their office in your country.
If you already have one, then make sure that it’s not expired, and that it won’t expire before you return to your home country. Bear in mind that you will need blank pages in your passport for your visa or immigration office stamps at the airport or at the borders.
2. You need to find the right education institution for the programme you wish to study and apply for admission.
You should start this research well in advance, at least one year in advance, because you never know how early you might be required to apply. I am sure you don’t want to miss out on the perfect study abroad experience just because you missed the application deadline, do you?
You can decide to handle this process yourself, request a friend’s help, or simply request the services of an expert like us through our study abroad Unit, LMS EDUC. Nevertheless, you are free to decide. Just understand that this step is really crucial to your project, and you’d better entrust it with a professional like us although you will have to pay for the service. One thing is to find an education institution offering your study programme, another thing is applying for admission, which is really tough. Therefore, even if you decide to find the institutions yourself or with a friend’s help, don’t try the same with application for your admission. There are a lot of things to consider when applying for an admission if you don’t want your application to be rejected:
- You have to read the admission requirements, which vary depending on each institution, and make sure you meet them all; Most of the time, documents required are: a copie of your valid passport, a CV/resume, original copies or certified translations of your qualifications, your original or certified translation transcripts, academic/professional reference letters, language test results, a personal statement, a financial plan, a study plan, etc.
- You have to check the total cost of the programme (tuition fees, living cost, insurance cost, accommodation cost, etc.), and make sure you can afford it;
- You have to make sure you can draft a hooking personal statement;
- Then you have to complete the online application
In order for you to maximize your chances of being admitted, we will recommend you to find at least three institutions before proceeding with your admission application if you decide to do it yourself. However, we do believe, it is wise to entrust the whole process from research of educational institutions to visa application with an expert and just wait for your admission letter and your visa if you can afford their services.
Indeed, there are many professionals helping with admission process but beware scammers.
- You need to apply for a visa depending on your destination
Another important step when preparing to study abroad is getting a student visa which is required by almost all countries. You should be aware that the process of applying for a student visa varies according to each country. It may be a long and tedious process involving copious paperwork and interviews, or it may be a straightforward online enrollment process. Therefore, most of people prefer to pay an expert to maximize their chance of getting their visa. Here also, beware scammers.
Note: You’d better get your visa before buying your plane ticket or pay for your accommodation, especially if it is not refundable.
These are the three most important things we believe you should take into consideration if you are planning to study abroad. Once again, beware scammers if you are requesting support from an expert. We are here to help you. If you have any concerns in tis regard, feel free to drop a comment or contact us. Our Team in charge of studying abroad and admission support will be glad to help you.
